The way in our care is not easy and quite simple: we see some care and the place of investigation. Whether we are talking about events, people or actions. Everyone who takes our eye by surprise receives our attention. This time we stopped at Georgian Mazerschi, an artist who likes to express himself through various media - art, graphic design, decorations, tattoos. From Georgian you may have heard it discussed in the same context as Stand Firm, The "brand" under which it is hidden. This time he is preparing us for a new artsy madness - a sticker book. Yes, you read that right. Stickers that you paste on your laptop, closet or give it to friends.

Only the story behind these stickers is a little different, so they got to make time in a book, the first of its kind created by a Romanian artist since we found out. So I talked more with Georgian to find out how the idea came to him and how, when this concept will reach the market. First of all, let's get to know the Creator.
I finished the degree in Graphics in Cluj, I was a teacher at the "George Apostu" High School of Arts in Bacău, and for 3 years I am a teacher at Romulus Ladea Arts Degree in Cluj, where I teach computerized image processing and drawing. I have this project with Stand Firm, a madness of my soul, created just because I like to draw, to paint, including digital. Everything that has to do with drawing, I am drawn to and I enjoy: posters for parties, logos for companies, I even did something for games. I like to help people with what I can, and even though I have pro-bono projects, as long as I draw something I like, I sleep peacefully at night. I want to be an easel artist, to exhibit works in galleries or museums, to have exhibitions as an easel artist, but this requires time and another important thing, space.

Georgian works on a portfolio print book entitled "MAZERSCHI - a sticker book made by SERGIU / GEORGIAN / MAZERSCHI" (different personalities, each with his own preoccupations and passions), which will contain 45 stickers, works made by him. over time. The project was born as it realized that this would be the best way to gather their works together and to present them to the public. So he selected what he thought fit for something and started to create the book itself.
Each person, even if he is living with the same moment with another person, in the same place, at the same time, has a different perception and perspective on the present, a different reality. I transposed this idea into art, I decomposed it visually. In what I create. If you want, it's kind of my artistic signature.

His stickers are totally different and will surely catch the attention of people of all ages, not just the students and students, who are mainly attracted to these things. Books will be sold on various media, in bookstores, online stores, various shops in Cluj, events. These will be delivered in the envelope, sealed, with the name of each one, so that when you receive the package you do not feel that you have received only one sticker card, but more than that. Georgian told us that he puts great emphasis on the small details because everything that comes out of his hand and under the aegis of Stand Firm must first of all be of a high quality and very well done from head to tail.
I chose the book version as well to ease the connection between people and art, because a book like this reaches more people than I would if I did an exhibition in a gallery. There are a maximum of 30 people, but here we are talking about 1000 copies. Those close to me tell me there are too many, but I trust they will sell. I am not the first to do this, I did not invent the wheel, but at least in Romania I have not seen any artist to give such a book to the table. Even though this culture of stickers has been around for a long time, we still cannot live exclusively in this country, unlike in other places...

From my point of view, stickers, of any kind, generally provide a fairly wide visibility, and his creations will not be seen only by those who buy the book for sure. In addition, there is something that we look at daily, and their special character may give you a bit of a fork. Why do I say that? Well, because it will probably take your heart to get them out of the book, and each sticker will require some time to think when you remove it and you want to paste them somewhere. The good part is that the pages of the book do not contain just the stickers.
I am proud of my work, because you have the stickers, but you also have information. When you remove them, the words that make sense remain. Do not stay with an empty book, there are still images of the works from which the stickers were extracted. I work for about 6-7 months on her own. I have had the idea for a long time, only that I mobilized harder. Until one night, when I put the plan on the paper and started working, a test project that I can present later. That I did strictly to find someone to help me with the prince, the content the book has now is different and required a longer selection than one night. It was a challenge to find someone who would print it as I wish, many told me they didn't have the technology. But I was lucky and I found a person, he already sent me a copy and I was satisfied.

The next step was to start designing, that is to select the works, all the pictures that he liked and wanted to appear in the book. From concept, graphics, promotion, everything related to this project is made by him. With emotion in his voice, he confessed to us that he enjoyed himself as a young child when he received the first copy. Which is right, the whole project seems to be very strong and down to the Georgian hat.
Another challenge is that of funds. I considered the idea of applying on Kickstarter, a platform meant to bring diverse projects to life - but I felt that I had to do a lot of things that would distract me from my main goal, would have taken time and I was forced on some things. I concluded that it does not suit me, it is not cost effective. And I thought that I better do something that I like during that time, and that can also bring me money.

In about a month, Georgian hopes that the final version of the book will be ready to be sent to the National Library, in order to obtain I.S.B.N., and then he will be able to place the order for the entire batch. All we have to do is wait and see his work in the world.
